Inflation Reduction Act Home Energy Rebates Information
The Virginia Department of Energy may apply for federal funding for two new Home Energy Rebate Programs. Please note that the rebates specifically for low to moderate income-earning households will not cover electric heat pump replacements. Virginia Energy is in the process of developing applications for funding for these new programs and the rebates are expected to be available starting in early 2025. - Virginia Energy held a public Home Energy Rebates Working Session on May 17, 2024 from 1:30 - 3:30pm ET. The purpose of this virtual working session was to help Virginia Energy think through key Home Energy Rebate Programs design decisions on topics such as eligibility and income verification, consumer protection, education and outreach, and market transformation.
