File a Complaint

During the hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, you may call Gas and Oil at (276) 415-9700 to file a complaint. After normal work hours, weekends, or holidays you may leave a message on the answering machine. We will respond to complaints concerning gas well development activities within 24 hours whenever possible, but no later than five days after the complaint is filed.

A Gas and Oil Inspector will contact the complainant to obtain more information on the nature of the complaint and will then conduct an investigation. When the investigation has been completed, the Inspector will deliver a copy of the final report to the complainant and provide an explanation of the findings. If aggrieved by the findings, the complainant may appeal the findings to the Director.

Complainants may choose to file their complaints anonymously. All records related to the complaint are public information.
