  • How do I learn more about Energy Efficiency, Solar, or Electric Vehicles/charging?

  • How do I determine which programs and incentives I am eligible for?

    The Incentives Browser is a customized tool that lists all energy programs and incentives available to the residential and commercial sectors in Virginia. Using the filterable options to the left, you can customize the list to show only the programs and incentives you are likely eligible for.
    Note: No personal information provided will be stored or shared.

  • How do I apply for specific programs or incentives?

    Using the Incentives Browser, select the program or incentive you are interested in. Selecting “Learn More” will take you to that program/incentive’s page where you are able to learn more and apply.

  • Is there someone who can help me navigate my options and/or apply?

    Yes! General inquiries or questions can be sent to Connect@energy.virginia.gov. A member from our team will reach out to help you. Coming soon, you will be able to connect with an Energy Ambassador serving your area. Once new Virginia Energy programs have launched (e.g. Home Energy Rebates), you will be able to contact program administrators directly.

  • How do I find quality contractors/installers who can do this work?

    For now, contact Connect@energy.virginia.gov and a member of our team will reach out to assist you. Coming soon, there will be a database of verified contractors and installers that have been verified to have the necessary credentials to take part in these incentives.

  • When using the Incentives Browser, how accurate does my income need to be?

    The Incentives Browser filter creates a customized list of programs and incentives you are eligible for based on your locality, annual gross household income, household size, and utility service provider(s). The savings amount for many of the incentives is based on your income. If you are unsure of your exact annual gross household income, try to get as exact as you can. You can also play around with the filter and see how your customized list changes as your income goes up or down.

  • How can I participate in these programs?

    Coming soon, the Contractors page will have all of the information you need to take part in Virginia’s clean energy programs and incentives.

  • Are there materials available for me to share with customers?

    Yes! Coming soon, we will have customizable materials that you can download and share with your customers and perspective clients. In the meantime, contact Connect@energy.virginia.gov for these resources.

  • When using the Incentives Browser filters, how is my information being stored?

    No personal data is stored through VEConnect. No information shared in the Incentives Browser is stored or shared.

  • How can I best protect my privacy and data when applying to energy programs outside of VEConnect?

    When applying for energy programs outside of VEConnect, personal information protection typically involves several layers of security and privacy practices to keep your data safe. For more information, reach out to the program administrator or provider of the specific program you are interested in applying for. Many programs will have a privacy statement on their website.

    Tips for safeguarding personal information during the program application process:

    • Use secure networks. Avoid applying over public Wi-Fi, if possible.
    • Verify website security. Check that the website URL begins with https:// and shows a padlock icon in the browser’s address bar. This means the site uses encryption to protect data.
    • Research the program. Only apply through official, reputable program websites.
    • Avoid saving information on shared devices. Don’t save your login information or personal data on public or shared computers.
    • Keep software updated. Ensuring your device’s operating system, browser, and antivirus software are up to date will help guard against vulnerabilities.
    • Limit sharing sensitive information. Only provide information that is absolutely necessary for the application. Do no overshare details such as social security numbers or financial information unless you are sure it is required.
