By D.J. Cederstrom, 62 pages, 10 figures, 6 tables, 1946. This report defines 4 belts of ground-water based on water chemistry. A page-sized map of the Virginia Coastal Plain shows the four belts running in a north-south direction: soft water of low mineralization, soft sodium-bicarbonate, hard bicarbonate, and high chloride. This is one of several reports by the author that cover the southern Virginia Coastal Plain. The outcome of reported anomalies in Chloride composition and sediment (formation) thickness, depth and composition supported discovery of the Chesapeake Bay Impact Crater. Out-of-print.
