The first day of the trip included visits to representative localities of the alkalic complex of Augusta County, with stops that showed Jurassic nepheline-natrolite syenites and teschenites with basement xenoliths. On the second day, the trip included localities of the Tioga Bentonite of Devonian age in Highland County.
